Evaluation activity 7

Looking back at our preliminary task (the continuity editing task), what do you feel have learnt from the progression from it to full product.

Here is our preliminary task.

Frame 1 comparison

This foot shot is from our preliminary task and is a high angled shot showing the intensity of the walk. By adding intensity it allows the viewers to feel the the dramatic atmosphere. The walk was slow as it needed to put the hesitation of the character across.
On the other hand this foot shot is at a different angle because the character of the film was shown better through the close up of her shoes. By showing the audience that she wears socks and sandals gives the viewers an insight on the character as well as showing a comedic view.

Frame 2 comparison

This is an over the shoulder shot in our preliminary task. It gives the viewers an insight on the background of the character's life without giving away too much of the story. In this shot the character is shown to be entering the counselling office which gives the audience the idea that she may have issues within her life. It allows the audience to question what is going to happen and therefore intrigues them to watch the rest of the film.

This is an over the shoulder shot in our final opening sequence. It shows the character locked within a locker which gives the idea that she is being bullied. This allows the audience to watch it further they want to know how she escapes the situation. The lighting is shown as dark as it creates an upset mood for the character as she is struggling.

This is a video of us, Jessica and Megan, discussing what we learnt from the preliminary task.

Evaluation activity 5 (part 2

This is our opening sequence annotated showing our unique selling point, similarities to other films and our views on our music.

Our opening sequence is very similar to the film 'Mean Girls' and in some ways similar to 'St Trinians'.  This is shown with in the annotations.

Interviews for activity 5 (part 1)

How did you attract/address your audience?

Here is a video of Megan interviewing 16/17 year olds. We interviewed this age group as it was our target audience for our opening sequence. From the interviews we learnt that our target audience would suit our film well as they enjoy the 'Inbetweeners' as it is similar to our opening sequence.

We also interviewed our teacher, Mr N Go.  From this interview we learnt that our film would not be suited to Mr Go's age group.  We can tell this because of his comments about the 'Inbetweeners'.   He said that he didn't understand all of the jokes as they are related more to teenagers and that he felt that the film wasn't aimed for him.
